This was a narrative painting I did to illustrate the part in the book, Twilight, where Bella first sees Edward's skin in the sun. It was done in gauche on illustration board. I actually had my sister and her boyfriend pose for this painting. I had them come to my Dad's photography studio and took several pictures of them for reference. I then placed them in an outdoor scene (meadow) in order to complete the painting. I also repainted the way Edward's skin reacted to the sun several times and this subtle glow seemed to work the best.
