The Girl with no Hands

This is an illustration of a Brothers Grimm fairytale called, "The Girl with no Hands." She has her arms tied behind her back and is left in the wilderness. She comes across a royal garden that is surrounded by a moat. She prays, and an angel comes and blocks off the moat so she can cross over to the garden and eat. This is showing the angel helping her reach the fruit on the trees.

Girl in Green

This is my latest head-painting from Don Seegmiller's class. I love how her eyes turned out!

Rapunzel's Sorceress

This is a painting I did of the Sorceress in the story of Rapunzel. After discovering that Rapunzel had frequent visits from a prince, she cut off her hair, cast her into the wilderness and then tricked the prince into climbing the tower one last time. She told him that Rapunzel was dead, and he was so distraught, that he threw himself from the tower and landed in bushes of thorns. This gouged his eyes so that he was blind, and he wondered aimlessly through the wilderness until he finally found Rapunzel again.

5-6 Hour Headpainting

This is one of the longer studies that we did in my Headpainting class. It's fun to be able to spend more time on detail and development!
