This is one of the head paintings I did in class last fall. My teacher, Don Seegmiller, said it was one of my best ones so far. I will be taking another class from him this fall, so hopefully I can improve even more!

For all you Twilight, Eclipse, New Moon and Breaking Dawn fanatics, this is a painting I did for my Special Problems: Illustration class. It is a narrative of a scene in Eclipse when the vampires and werewolves are at war! I was going for a 'Howard Pyle' look with a limited color pallet and select locations of brighter color to create a stronger mood.

Extended/Exact Drawing

This is an attempt to duplicate a training method by William Whitaker, where one has a picture of a drawing, and you have to carefully copy it to its exactness! Depending on your patience it can take months! I'm obviously still working on it.. posting my progress as I go.

My Nightmare

This was a painting we had to do of a dream/nightmare we had for my Special Problems: Illustration class with Greg Newbold. I painted a nightmare I had that the mountain near my home turned into a volcano! (Acrylic on Illustration board)

Girls on a Ball

This is a painting I did in my Illustration 1 class. I had my sisters model for me as I took several pictures to find the best composition. (Gauche on Illustration board)

Summer Still-Life

This is one of the first paintings I did in my Illustration 1 class. We were to paint a still life depicting an article given. I chose to illustrate an article on Summer! (Gauche on Illustration board)

The Door to the Sheepfold

This project was brought about by the Dean of the Art Department just before Christmas 2007. We were to illustrate one of the 9 characteristics of Christ. I chose to illustrate Christ as the 'Door to the Sheepfold.' A sheepfold is a safe enclosed area for sheep to stay, and this painting represents Christ as the door or entrance to that safe haven. Only by and through Him can we be saved. (Oil on Canvas)
